If I may ask, how did it go? What did your City Council decide to do?

Nothing yet unfortunately. They aren't acting, which is why we need to continue to keep the pressure on.

Qasim

Having said my piece, I do want you to know abhor violence. I wish that the fighting would stop. I wish innocent civilians were not harmed. I wish Palestinians could find a way to a peaceful fruitful life. But I don’t believe the path they have take will lead them there.

I also want you to know a few years back I helped a Palestian immigrant to the United States. I am not anti Palestinian. I am for the state of Israel.

Qasim Tell me do you approve of what Hamas did on October 7? Do you approve of Hamas firing 1000’’s of missiles into Israeli population center with the goal of killing 1000’s of civilians. Do you accept that Hamas started a war against Israel and is the only side that can end it.

What is your solution to stop the fighting? To stop the hate? Israel is not going away. But if necessary Hamas is going to hell and they appear ready to take a lot of Palestinian civilians with them.

I have not seen that Hamas has agreed to release the Hostages. I also do not agree that Israel is committing war crimes. Hamas committed war crimes by violating a ceasefire, murdering in cold blood Israeli and foreign civilians, using their own civilians as defensive shields, denying their civilians food, medical supplies and other aid provided by Israel and international sources, by torturing hostages, by embedding histages among the civilian population. You are blind to the facts.

Let me know if you'e heard of Lavendar or Where's Daddy, Israeli AI programs. Also, a very long time ago, I believe in the '80s, the Israelis saw fit to bulldoze a Palestinian's thousand-year-old olive grove, because it belonged to a Palestinian! You must know that in the Torah God says, yes, remove every man, woman and child from the Land of Canaan (in Deuteronomy it says "kill"), but save the fruit trees and vineyards for yourselves. This did not start on October seventh. Also, I don't believe there is a solution. But the sides should just start talking. I'm a believer in improv comedy (comedy?) and, when talking, each side should take the other's side role to see what it feels like. Maybe in one hundred years we'll see something move. But, remember, this started with our common father, Abraham. Just for you, I once took a class, given by the rabbi where my kids were being bat mitzvahed, called "family dysfunction in the Bible." Yep. Started a very long time ago. We mustn't expect instant results.

You accuse me of being “blind to facts” when

Hamas has clearly agreed to the UNSC resolution of complete ceasefire and release of all hostages https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/hamas-accepts-un-ceasefire-resolution-ready-negotiate-over-details-official-says-2024-06-11/

UN, ICC, ICJ, and our own state department agree israel is violating international law and committing war crimes, including extermination

Can’t wake up someone pretending to be asleep

Okay Tell Hamas to release all the hostages dead or alive and to forsake violence now and forever and to recognize Israel as a sovereign state, to stop threatening or attacking Israel, to stop teaching its children to hate and kill Jews and Israelis. To live in peace with Israel and thrive along side Israel. Then Israel will stop the war that Hamas brought upon itself by suddenly surprise attacking Israel on October 7 2023, it sabbath and holiday and butchering 1200 of its citizens and for firing thousands of missiles into Israel with the objective of killing thousands more.

Hamas has agreed to release all hostages, Israel hasn't. If you're silent on that, then it isn't the hostages you care about. Also you didn't actually rebut any of the arguments I put forth, which makes one wonder why you're selective in which war crimes you condemn? Truly concerning.
